Why Fossatun?
On our trip to Iceland last November we stayed on the camping ground, called with that name. I would roughly translate it as “field of waterfalls” and indeed the property stands on the river with a rumbling waterfall. But most importantly, it’s a land of trolls. With legends carved into stones. The owner of the house is a writer, whose stories of Icelandic folklore has been translated in a dozen of languages. I’m making it a good tradition to connect my designs to places where they came from: Irish - to Ireland, Icelandic - to Iceland.

Sizes
The pattern instructions are calculated for five sizes 1 (2, 3, 4, 5) to fit 74 (84, 94, 104, 114) cm /29 (33, 37, 41, 45) in bust circumference with ca. 24—28 cm /9—11 in of positive ease. For the finished measurements, please refer to the graph. The sample is shown in size 1 on a 160 cm /5.3 feet tall model with 84—66—94 cm body measurements.

Yarn
A total of ca. 300 (350, 400, 450, 500) g of Álafosslopi (with 100 m /109 yds in 100 g) for a cropped version: ca. 240 (270, 300, 330, 360) g of the main color, shown in 9972 ecru heather (white);
ca. 60 (80, 100, 120, 140) g of contrasting color, shown in 9973 wheat heather (brown). The length can be easily adjusted if you have extra mc yarn. Or any similar yarn(s) to match the gauge.

Needles and notions
A pair of 5.5 mm (US 9) 80—100 cm (32—40 in) circular needles for the body; 2—3 spare cables or spare cable needles; min 4.0 mm (G6) crochet hook; stitch markers; scrap yarn for provisional cast-on.

Gauge
9 sts and 15 rows in 10 cm /4 in measured over stockinette stitch in a round after blocking on 5.5 mm (US 9) needles. Adjust the needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
