A classic, subtle silhouette, easy and comfortable to wear, the Foundation Pullover is an oversized, drop-shoulder sweater with ¾ length sleeves and shirttail hems. Knit with fingering weight yarn in an open gauge gives the stockinette fabric a lovely drape and flow. Accented with tailored folded trims in a bold (or subtle) contrast colour, this everyday jumper will be a foundation in your wardrobe.

This pullover is knitted from the top down, flat knitting to start to form sleeve openings and rounded neckline. Upper back and chest are joined for knitting the body in the round. High / low, curved hems are worked using German short rows, finished with a folded hem. Three-quarter length, tapered sleeves are worked in the round and finished with a folded cuff. The pullover is completed with a folded neckband.

SIZING
This pullover is designed to be oversized and is intended to be worn with 20-40cm | 8-16in of positive ease at the upper bust.

Due to the nature of drop-shoulder garments, both your body’s bust circumference and your body’s shoulder width should be used to choose your size.

Sizes 1 (2, 3, 4) ⁅5, 6, 7⁆ {8, 9} to fit

Your body’s bust circumference (measured at the upper bust)
70-77 (78-90, 91-100, 101-111) ⁅112-121, 122-131, 132-141⁆ {142-151, 152-170} cm
28-31 (32-36, 36-40, 40-44) ⁅44-48, 48-52, 52-56⁆ {56-60, 60-68} in

AND

Your body’s shoulder width (measured across the back)
32-40 (33-41, 34-42, 35-43) ⁅37-54, 38-46, 39-47⁆ {40-48, 42-50} cm
13-16 (13-17, 14-17, 14-17) ⁅15-18, 15-18, 16-19⁆ {16-19, 17-20} in

If your bust circumference & shoulder width are within the same size, choose that size (or one to two smaller if you prefer less ease).

If your shoulder width is 1 or 2 sizes smaller than your corresponding bust circumference, it is recommended to choose the size that corresponds to your shoulder width. Your finished garment will have less positive ease, however, the shoulder overhang and sleeve length will have a better overall fit.
