Fountains of Rome
Art Deco-inspired fans can be reminiscent of water arcing out of fountains. A slight redesign of the fans seen in Deco Fans Hat & Cowl has given the fans a more graceful shape, and these worked in a combination of Aguas (water) and Piedras (stones) brought to mind Ottorino Respighi’s The Fountains of Rome, a symphonic poem dedicated to the lovely fountains that grace that Italian city.
This pattern combines several of my favorite techniques: garter stripes and two-color slipped-stitch cabling, all wrapped up in an asymmetrical, bias-knit shape. I hope you love knitting it as much as I did.
