This is based on a common idea for a simple doily coaster, except mine is slightly different with only 8 scallops for this octagonally round doily.
Four rounds make this easy doily coaster.
If you use 4 ply cotton, use a 2mm hook.
No gauge is needed for this pattern, the yarn and hook will determine the size of the finished doily coaster.
