Fox family hat
Be smart as a fox this winter, keep your head warm:)
Wouldn’t this hat be cute for a whole family or group of friends?
And the hat goes with my new top-down, round yoke sweater : https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/fox-family-sweater
Construction
The hat is worked seamlessly in-the-round from brim to crown.
Sizes
There are 5 sizes to choose from: baby/toddler/child/adult Small to Medium/adult Medium to Large Finished circumference, after washing/blocking, and worked at gauge: 35/40/45/50/55 cm = 13.75/15.75/17.75/19.75/21.75”
Materials
Yarn: I used Lama-Tweed from Camarose. This yarn comes in balls of 50 gr/1.76 oz, and 100 m/109 yards. It is an Aran weight yarn to be worked at 17-18 sts, but I found it more suitable to work it at 20 sts.
You can use any yarn that knits up to gauge. For all sizes you will need 1 ball of MC, 1 ball of the contrasting colour (and a tiny amount if you choose to use a second contrasting colour). Needles: Circular needles, 40 cm/16” long, size 3.5mm/US4 for the ribbing. Circular needles, 40 cm/16” long, 4.5mm/US7 for the main body of the hat. Dpns 4.5mm/US7 for the crown of the hat.
The smallest size might be worked using dpns from brim to crown.
The pattern
All measurements are given in cm’s as well as in inches.
The fair-isle pattern is charted (colour-charts) for all the sizes.
