Fox in Socks
Everyone needs a little fox-in-socks in their life! This whimsical little knit will be sure to bring a smile to your face every time you put them on. They are worked from the toe up in plain stockinette stitch so they are a breeze to knit. The white detailing is added after the socks are finished using duplicate stitch. It is a little time consuming but is definitely easier than floating the yarn along the entire circumference of the sock. The duplicate stitching is a bit time consuming, so plan 1 extra night to complete that part of the work.
Sizes: Extra Small (Small, Medium, Large, Extra Large, Extra-Extra Large) to measure an actual arch circumference of 5.75” (6.75”, 7.75”, 8.75”, 9.75”, 10.75”)/14.5 (17, 19.5, 22, 25, 27.5) cm.
Most people prefer a bit of negative ease, but if you prefer zero ease, chose the circumference that best represents your actual arch circumference.
Yarn: 300 – 800 yards/275 - 730 meters of sock weight yarn (less for ankle-high socks, more for knee-highs). Sample shown in Cascade Heritage Sock Yarn colorways Cinnamon (5640), Snow (5618), and scrap amounts of a dark color for the eyes and nose.
Techniques: Knitting in the round, basic increase and decreases, short rows, and duplicate stitch.
