Fhdc- Foundation Half Double Crochet - Tutorial
Chain 3 (counts as first fhdc). Yarn over (YO) and insert hook in 3rd chain from hook YO and pull up loop (3 loops on hook), YO and pull through 1 loop creating a chain, (this is an important step but easy to forget), YO and pull through all three loops on hook. This completes the second fhdc (remember your first ch3 counted as the first fhdc). To stitch the next fhdc, yarn over and insert the hook into the chain made in the 2nd fhdc and repeat from to desired length or until the desired amount of sts are achieved.

CSDC- Chainless Starting Double Crochet - Tutorial
If working in rows, turn work. If working in rounds spin hook completely around, making a twist in the loop. Pull up a loop to the height of a normal dc. YO with the loop so that the hook is behind the loop. Insert the hook into the first st of row. Complete a normal dc (YO and draw through st (3 loops on hook). YO and draw through first two loops on hook. YO and draw through last two loops on hook).

Row 1: Fhdc to 6” (must be a multiple of 3 + 1), turn work.

Row 2: Ch 3 or CSDC and dc in the first st, skip 2 fhdc, 2 dc, ch 2, dc in the next st, repeat from until 3 sts remain, skip 2 fhdc, 2 dc in the last st.

Row 3: Ch 3 or CSDC and dc in the first st, 2 dc, ch 2, dc in the next ch-2 (skipping all the sts in between, repeat from until all ch-2 sps are worked, 2 dc in the last st (skipping all the sts in between).

CONSTRUCTION
The Foxglove Lace Tunic is constructed top down. The Yoke section is increased to the desired bust measurement. Each increase takes place over two rows. The sleeves and body are then separated out and the body is continued evenly to the hem and edged. The sleeves are then worked into the sleeve openings and then cuffs are added. Edging is added to the neck.

ADJUSTING FIT
If you require more ease over the hips you can add increase shells as desired before you reach the hips. Try your garment on as you are making it to determine where you will need to add increases. Each increase shell will add one additional shell. Remember that each increase will take place over two rows- work the same way as Yoke.

• Unless otherwise noted, each set of sts/shells will be worked into the ch-2 space of the previous set of sts/shells.

• Pattern is written in size Small with changes for Medium-5x in parentheses. If only one number is shown it pertains to all sizes.

• Ch 3 is considered the first dc. Alternatively you can substitute the CSDS instead (see special stitches). Increases are worked over two rows.
