The basic purse pattern is highly customizable and very simple to crochet.

It is best completed in a yarn with a lot of body which is why I chose the Yarn Bee Chenille as it is a very firm and slightly “springy” yarn. Also, I would use a hook that gives a nice, tight gauge as with any unlined bag.
