It‘s cold outside. Time to wrap your hands in warm mittens to brave the cold. Suddenly a phone call comes in or you want to capture your friend doing a flip while ice skating. Unwrapping is no option! These classic shaped mittens come with a twist: the mittens can be converted into mitts. Flip them over to use your fingertips.

The mittens are completely worked in rounds. Starting at the bottom with corrugated ribbing, the Fair Isle pattern is revealed as the pattern comes to the tip. The colourwork is inspired by the graphic artist M.C. Escher. His art had a strong mathematical component.

The Aran-weight yarn gives a warm thickness and makes it a quick project. Choose two contrasting colours to reveal the fractal.

Pattern notes
The mittens are worked bottom up. The two-coloured cast-on is continued by corrugated ribbing. The geometric Fair Isle motifs get bigger as the tip is reached. The mittens are worked seamlessly.
The palm circumference of the model‘s hand is 19cm (7 1/2“) and the mittens are worn with a 1/2“ negative ease. There is the possibility to make the mittens larger. The instructions tell you where the mittens can be lengthened.

Es ist kalt draussen. Zeit, deine Hände in warme Handschuhe zu wickeln, um der Kälte zu trotzen. Plötzlich kommt ein Telefonanruf oder du willst den Moment festhalten, wenn dein Freund beim Schlittschuhlaufen einen Salto macht. Das Auspacken ist keine Option! Diese klassisch geformten Handschuhe haben eine Wendung: Die Fäustlinge können in fingerlose Handschuhe verwandelt werden. Klappe die Spitze um, um deine Fingerspitzen zu benutzen.
Die Farbgebung ist von dem Grafiker M.C. Escher inspiriert. Seine Kunst hatte eine starke mathematische Komponente. Die geometrischen Motive werden grösser, wenn die Spitze erreicht wird.

Die Fraktal Handschuhe sind komplett in Runden gearbeitet. Angefangen bei der Unterseite mit zweifarbigen Rippen, wird das Fair Isle-Muster sichtbar, wenn das Muster zur Spitze kommt. Die Handschuhe sind nahtlos gearbeitet.

Das Aran-starke Garn verleiht eine warme Dicke und macht es zu einem schnellen Projekt. Wähle zwei kontrastierende Farben, um die Fraktale zu enthüllen.
