Full of color and lace framed by a beautiful slipped stitch border, the Fractured Shawl takes its name from the geological term “fracture” in which the rock splits or has a fault which causes the layers to stagger on top of each other, causing a beautiful juxtaposition of sediment that exposes the striking beauty of a perpendicular line.

Using some very simple intarsia, lace, and color, the shawl is a fun knit and the end product is a fabulous piece of wearable art! So grab your needles and start knitting!

The pattern comes with a chart as well as written instructions! So whether you are a chart lover or a lover of the written form, both are here for whichever version you prefer!

Size: 60 inches along top edge X 16 inches along center line. This is the size of the blocked sample and as such, due to blocking differences, gauge differences, and knitter’s preferences, your shawl may be a different size.

Recommended yarn: 3 colors of sport weight yarn in semi-solid, lightly variegated, or solid colors. Sample uses Brown Sheep Nature Spun Sport in the colorways Pepper (A), Charcoal (B), and Limestone (C)

Yardage: Color A: 190 yds/ 174 m; Color B: 190 yds/ 174 m; Color C: 200 yds/ 183 m

Needles: 32” US size 6 / 4.0mm circular needles

Gauge: 6 sts to the inch in garter stitch on US size 6 / 4.0mm needles

Notions: 2 Stitch markers, tapestry needle, scissors
