Frank Newsboy Cap for the Dudes and Ladies - Fun Urban Grunge Appeal - Crochet Pattern

Frank is a newsboy cap that has all the right stuff-cold weather comfort, stashability and up the minute grunge urban styling. Peak is a youthful shorter length. Cap is fast, easy and inexpensive to create. Doubled yarn adds wonderful texture to stitches. Just for fun, I added a Think Green themed applique to peak area to impart youthful pop. Cap looks just as wonderful without any embellishment.

Cap is worked up in a double strand (creates great texture) of Lion Brand Wool-Ease worsted weight yarn and requires two balls. Wool-Ease was perfect for this project. Other acrylic yarns may be too thick so for best results and sizing, I recommend this yarn. Yes, worsted weights do vary in thickness.

You will need three sizes of hook. Length of cap without peak is approximately 8” and circumference = 22”.

Frank features one piece construction, no seams and is crocheted in the round without slip stitches at end of each round. Cap is sized for a dude but I also include suggestions for creating a female version with a smaller circumference as well as sizing for an extra large noggin.

Pattern is for INTERMEDIATE BEGINNER who can crochet in the round and read a pattern.
