Frankie V has that cozy, sweatshirt style that I loved from early 90’s sweaters and never stopped wearing. With its relaxed fit, top-down, in-the-round raglan shaping, Frankie V is a twist on your basic v neck sweater construction.

There are two collars available to choose from: the Classic V, with ribbing and center double decreases; and the Chunky V, which involves German Short Row shaping and center double decreases, making the front ribbing thicker than the back. The collar is cast on first and worked from the bottom up. Stitches are then picked up around the collar’s cast-on edge and the yoke is shaped with Japanese short rows.

Once the knitting is joined in the round, the rest of the sweater is a standard top-down raglan. Optional increases, decreases, and added yoke depth are added throughout different sections of the pattern to build your own customized fit. Knowing your body measurements and what amounts of ease you prefer will help to create a super cozy Frankie V.
