Frederic Blouse
Knitting Pattern for an Oversized Blouse with i-Cord-edgings, drop shoulders and a wide and airy fit in sizes XS | S | M (L | XL | 2XL) 3XL | 4XL | 5XL.
Structure:
The blouse is worked in stockinette stitch top down in one piece: First, the back part is worked back and forth in rows. Then, stitches along the cast-on-row of the back part are picked up for the right and left front part. The front parts are first worked separately while shaping the round neck. Then, the two front parts are joined with the back part by casting on new stitches under each armpit and the body is finished in one piece and in stockinette stitch. The body stitches are then bound off with an i-Cord-edging. Afterwards, stitches for the sleeves are picked up directly out of the body along the armholes and the sleeves are worked in stockinette stitch in the round. Shortly before the sleeves are finished, you will work a bunch of decreases for a balloon-like shape and then the sleeves are bound off with an i-Cord-edging as well. Last, but not least, the neckline is finished with an applied i-Cord-edging to match the hem and cuffs. The front parts are finished with an applied i-Cord-edging as well. Finally, buttons are attached to the left front part and eyelets are crocheted along the right front part to close the blouse.
The fit of the blouse is loose, airy and oversized. The combination of a lace weight yarn with a bigger gauge creates a holey, summery and breezy look. The i-Cord-edgings are worked with 2 strands of yarn held together to create an interesting contrast in comparison to the light and shiny fabric of body and sleeves. The blouse is the perfect companion for warm summer evenings in combination with a top, a dress or just over a bikini to go to the beach.
