Free Range is a simple cowl with chevron patterning using just knits and purls which create a beautiful but subtle texture throughout. Knit in Tosh Vintage and a choice of two different sizes (small or large), this cowl is perfect for cooler months but works well in transitional seasons as well.
Materials:
-1 (2) skeins of Tosh Vintage yarn (Small size shown in Limited Edition color - Sausage, Lemon, & Swiss Chard Lasagna, & Large size shown in Limited Edition Color - Free Range Eggs. Both colors only available at Jimmy Beans Wool)
-US size 8 - 24” circular needle if knitting large size.
-US size 7 - 16” circular needle if knitting small size.
-1 stitch marker
-Tapestry needle
Note on size: In order to get the small size out of just 1 skein of yarn, you must knit it on the smaller US size 7 needle (or size needed to obtain gauge.) You can certainly knit either size on either needle, but account for more yarn usage if you choose to do so. The smaller needle results in a firmer fabric while the larger needle results in a softer fabric with more drape. Make your choice according to preference. (The Pattern will be updated with this additional info shortly. In the meantime, please follow instructions for size small needles listed here.)
Finished Measurements:

Large: 27” circumference x 13.5” height after blocking.

Small: 18 sts & 28 rnds = 4” in pattern on US 7.
