Free Wheeling Cowl
I imagined this cowl as a match to the Free Wheeling Beanie I created while listening to “The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan”, the music that rocked my teenage years.
So, “Free Wheeling Cowl” is that kind of unisex textured cowl, warm and comfy, that is so pleasant to wear for everybody, man, woman, children, for “tracing the road” …
Um … sorry, for long walks in the great outdoors!
“Free Wheeling Beanie” is worked in rounds and bottom up.
I used a lovely bulky yarn to knit it, and I am so sorry it is discontinued by now, but I am sure that you will find yourself a lovely warm yarn that fits gauge and will make a great cowl !
This unisex pattern comes in 2 sizes:
Child (C) : circumference 52 cm/20.5”, height 18 cm/7” ;
Adult (A) : 60 cm/23.6”, height 20 cm/7.9” ;
The height is easily adaptable.
Skills needed : cast on, knit in the round, knit, purl, basic decrease techniques.
Pdf includes full written instructions and a chart to help you with the textured pattern.
Yarn recommendation: I used Bouton d’Or Steppe, now discontinued. Bouton d’Or Laïka would also be ideal for this cowl.
You will find other yarn suggestions here on YarnSub.
enfant (E) : circonférence 52 cm - hauteur 18 cm ;
adulte (A) : circonférence 60 cm - hauteur 20 cm.
