I created this motif for a freeform pillow I am working on. The tutorial contains a brief introduction to freeform and a chance to try out a few interesting stitches sometimes used in freeform. The finished piece measures 3.5” in diameter and could potentially be used as anything from a project embellishment to component of a larger freeform project such as a tote bag, pillow, or jacket.

To replicate the piece you will need the following:

• Sport weight yarn in ivory and dark brown (or colors of your choice)
• Fabric glue (optional)
• Yarn needle
• Size E crochet hook

Although the stitches used in the tutorial are basic they are used in unconventional ways. I would call the skill level intermediate.
