This beanie is worked flat and then seamed. The vertical rows give it a “knit” look even though it is crochet. This is a fun texture and for a perfect fit beanie.
The pattern is written for a teen/ small adult but is easy to adjust for the size you are after. It works well with any worsted weight yarn.
