FRIDA
It’s an easy knit, with uncomplicated stitches and most of the pattern has been written line by line for your convenience. It’s a good choice for social knitting, or to take along on a trip. You’ll be enchanted by the beautiful colors of this yarn.
The poncho is knit flat with my special selvage edges, then folded in half and seamed for 15” along the shoulder. It slips easily over your head and may be worn in a variety of styles. It measures approximately 20” wide x 53” in length. Gauge is 4 sts./in. 6 rows /in.
When I think of Frida Kahlo, the first words that come to mind are courage and creativity. She was an incredibly courageous woman, fighting through pain and challenges all her life, first battling polio as a child, and later recovering from a tragic bus accident. She also had the courage of her convictions and never wavered from her truth, as reflected in her art.
The colorways of this yarn were developed by the manufacturer, inspired by the fabulous paintings of Frida Kahlo. The sections of this poncho pattern were named after some of her paintings, and my admiration for her work has grown. www.fridakahlo.org
