Friendly golf club covers
Although I don’t play golf (maybe someday), I have always been surrounded by golfers. My former husband played professional golf and we have raised our three children around the sport. All three love the game and one in particular has some pretty special talent. His nickname is “friendly”. When “friendly” asked me to knit a cover for his driver, of course I had to start immediately: I cast on at 9pm and was done by midnight. These are quick!
By using a size 8 needle and bulky yarn you will create a very dense yarn. The covers need to be dense in order to withstand the wear they get in a golf bag and the constant on and off motion that comes with playing golf!
There are two sizes: a larger one for the driver and a smaller one for all the other clubs. Add stripes to signify the club number and optionally add an embroidered number, a pom-pom or a tassel. Use colors that make you happy and have fun!
