I was inspired to create this mitten to honor a friendship that has existed for almost 40 years. We met as freshmen in college and our friendship has continued for these many years. Evergreen trees and girls holding hands--symbols of our friendship woven with those sisterly bonds she shares with many others. This one’s for you, Susan my friend!

Use two good contrasting colors--pick her favorites! Thicker yarn and larger needle sizes will yield bigger mittens.

You’ll also need four double pointed needles, a small stitch holder and a needle to weave in loose ends.
