Delicate yet warm lace tube scarf, worked in the round in one piece. There are just two lace patterns to work with, each worked over 4 rounds, with small (memorable!) repeats. Lace patterns are both written and charted, with written instructions for the transition rounds. This is a great starter pattern for a first try at knitting lace in the round. The hardest stitch in the pattern is a p3tog.

All decreases on the main scarf section are worked in the same direction, giving the eyelets pattern a gentle spiral up the work.

The blue scarf is worked in vintage Hunter’s of Brora Shetland 2-ply (can be substituted with Jamieson & Smith 2-ply jumper weight, which has almost identical properties and comes in a fabulous range of colours), both of which knit as fingering weight. The grey scarf is worked in Regia 4-ply, with beads added in the transition rounds. Any fingering weight yarn can be used, sock yarns with nylon with give it extra spring and bounce and also work well with the pattern stitches.
