Ein weiteres Muster meiner botanischen Sockendesigns

Die Schachbrettblume (Fritillaria meleagris) gehört zur Familie der Liliengewächse. Ihre Blütezeit dauert von Mitte April bis Anfang Mai, wobei die einzelnen Blüten nur etwa fünf Tage überdauern. Die mehrjährige Zwiebelpflanze besitzt kleine Zwiebeln. Aus diesen wächst im Frühjahr ein Trieb, der sich zu einem 15 bis 30 Zentimeter hochragenden, rötlich braunen Stängel entwickelt. Pro Pflanze wird meist eine glockenförmig hängende Blüte gebildet. Die charakteristische purpur-weiß getupfte Zeichnung der Blütenblätter erscheint wie das Muster eines Schachbretts oder die Befiederung eines Perlhuhns – der Artname meleagris bedeutet „perlhuhnfleckig“.

Another pattern of my botanical sock designs

The chessboard flower (Fritillaria meleagris) belongs to the lily family. Their flowering period lasts from mid-April to the beginning of May, with the individual flowers only lasting about five days. The perennial bulb plant has small bulbs. From these grows a shoot in spring, which develops into a 15 to 30 centimeter high, reddish brown stem. A bell-shaped hanging flower is usually formed per plant. The characteristic purple-white spotted drawing of the petals looks like the pattern of a chessboard or the feathering of a guinea fowl - the species name meleagris means “pearl chicken spotted”.

This is not a detailed sock instruction, you get 3 different colored charts, so you can freely decide how you want to knit your botanical socks.
