Frog Hat
Notes and notions:
This hat was made for a 23” head, aiming for 22” total circumference. Fits loosely/not tight.
G hook
4 colors of worsted weight yarn – this one was done in Red Heart Super Saver: main color green, eyeball color white, small amounts of black for iris and ‘mouth’, small amount of pink for cheeks (optional). Know that other brands that are great go-tos, such as I Love This Yarn etc might stretch/shape differently.
Yarn needle
Little bit of stuffing/polyfil fiber
Recommend a marker, particularly for newer crocheters
In a round, you will repeat only what is in the around. For example, ch3, dc, 2dc around you would ch3, dc, and then repeat the 2dc until noted.
Gauge:
4 stitches in 1” across, 4 rows to 1 3/4” down. I recommend checking the size of the hat to the intended head as you go. Proportions, and to some degree assembly, might change as you go along, so if you are looking to alter, you might have to tweak this pattern a bit.
Terms (US terms):

hdc – half double crochet
dc – double crochet
2dc -2 double crochet in same stitch (increase stitch)
