From the heart Beanie is worked in the round from the folded brim to the top, with a nice Heart stitch, soft and thick. The pompom is optional. It is very stretchy and fits most women and teens (or children over 7 years old). If you want it more slouchy, you can add rounds before the decreases.

• DK yarn (100g for 200m or 220 yards): 90g / 96 g (180 m - 197 yards / 192 m - 210 yards) without pompom (15 to 20g more for pompom)
• Needle: US4 / 3.5 mm 16” / 40 cm circular needle and dpns for decreases (or size to get gauge), another circular needle of the same size or smaller for the folded brim.
• Yarn needle

Gauge: 28sts = 4” / 10 cm in rib stitch (unstretched)
26 sts = 4” / 10 cm in heart stitch (unstretched)

Skill level: intermediate - easier that is seems once you get used to the heart stitch, but with skills to know or learn (provisional cast on, pull up loop, k2 tog, slip stitch) with pictures or links to videos.
