This hat and mitten set is meant to bring to mind the blue skies and pine trees of Beals Island, ME. Slipped stitches create the colorwork pattern, but only one color of yarn is worked per round (ie: they’re easier than they look).

If you can knit in the round, slip a stitch, k2tog and M1, you can knit up this warm and wooly set.
