The Frosted Socks are a design that I have long wanted to create.

For many years this pair of socks has been a dream in my head, and I’m so thrilled that now they have become a reality.

The sweet lace pattern is a short straightforward repeat, that is highly addictive to knit. It also has a ribbed element, so it makes for a well fitting sock.

As I was knitting these, the stitch pattern brought to mind those chilly days when you wake to look out onto a world coated in a sparking frost. The Frosted Socks they had to be!

These socks make a perfect first lace pair, and are equally as enjoyable for a more experienced knitter.

Socks Details

The socks feature an all over lace pattern, that uses basic lace stitches. They have a traditional heel flap and gusset, with my Umbrella Toe. Instructions are given for knitting these using a contrast yarn. The lace pattern is both written and charted and a video tutorial is included showing how to knit the lace repeat.

Sizes

The pattern comes in 3 sizes - Small (56 sts), Medium (64 sts) and Large (72 sts). Instructions are given for the magic loop method, but other methods can of course be used.

Yarn

I used yarns that I had dyed myself. You can watch me dye the main colour yarn - ‘The Christmas Holiday’, in episode 255 of our video show (The Bakery Bears on Youtube). My skein is fingering weight and is 400m for 100g.

This is a perfect lace pattern for all of the lovely speckled yarns in your stash.
