’Frühlingshauch’ ist ein Dreieckstuch, gearbeitet von Ecke zu Ecke in zweifarbigem Patent. Das Muster ist recht einfach und daher auch für diejenigen geeignet, die mit der Brioche-Technik noch wenig Erfahrung haben.
Das Tuch besteht überwiegend aus glatten Patentreihen, mit einer Blattborte an einem Rand. Für den luftigen, transparenten Effekt empfiehlt sich die Verwendung einer Silk-Mohair-Mischung.
Eine kleine Warnung vorweg: Da die Blätter jeweils getrennt beendet werden, bleiben viele Faden zum Vernähen. Um diese ungeliebte Arbeit etwas zu versüßen, habe ich jeweils kleine Perlen an die Blattspitzen gesetzt.
Bei der Brioche-Strickschrift verwende ich die (englischen) Abkürzungen, die Nancy Marchant eingeführt hat. Man muss sich beim Brioche-Stricken ohnehin an neue Kürzel gewöhnen und deutsche Abkürzungen wären tatsächlich noch umständlicher. Die Kenntnis der Basistechnik wird vorausgesetzt.

’Frühlingshauch’ (= ‘A touch of spring’) is a triangular shawl, worked in two-color brioche from side to side. The pattern is quite simple and a good exercise for those who aren’t overly familiar with the technique.
For the most part, the shawl is done in straight brioche rows, with leaves emerging at one edge. For that airy, translucent appearance you should use yarn with a blend of silk and mohair.
A little warning: Each leaf is finished separately from the main part of the shawl. Unfortunately this means a lot of loose ends. I put small beads at the tops of the leaves to sweeten the loathed sewing in of those loose ends,.
