This design features the 12 Fruits of the Spirit bestowed upon Confirmation in the Catholic Church: charity, joy, peace, patience, kind(ness), generosity, gentle(ness), faith(fulness), modesty, self-control, goodness, chastity.

  • Finished size as shown is 69” by 56”.
  • This took 4 complete Caron 1pound skeins and part of another. You can use a different yarn/hook if desired. Gauge is not really critical.

Starting chain of 156. Start at bottom right hand corner of pattern by sc in each chain across (155 ch).

Special Notes:
Bobble stitch --- Yo, insert hook into sc, yo, pull thru. Repeat 5 times into same sc. There should be 13 loops on the hook. Yo and pull thru 12 of the loops. Yo and pull thru the last 2 loops.

Before you begin, tape the bottom 4 sheets side by side. Repeat with the middle 4 sheets and then the top 4 sheets. Highlighting every 10 rows and columns (starting at bottom right) helps to keep track of where you are in the pattern.

Chain 1 at the end of each row and turn.

There will ALWAYS be a sc after a bobble.
There will ALWAYS be an odd number of sc stitches between bobbles.
All RIGHT SIDE rows are single crochet.
Bobble rows are ALWAYS worked on the WRONG side.
Bobble should “pop” to the right side when worked.
Check your work often to make sure everything is lined up correctly.

Finishing
After completing the chart, ch 1 and continue around the outside edge with a sc in each row/stitch (sc, ch1, sc in the corners). Join at start and then ch 1, turn and slip stitch in each of the sc around. Join and fasten off.
