Fruity Islands
Who doesn’t like strawberries? The body of this shawl looks a lot like the structure of this delicious fruit. Combined with a Shetland-lace edge this became a beautiful accessory. Just imagine yourself wearing this shawl / scarf while enjoying Chocolate strawberry Pavlova. You’ll find a link to the recipe from “A taste of Shetland” below.
This pattern is very versatile. You can make triangle or increase more gradually for a longer but less high shawl. You can also knit the lace edge on both sides and increase less to make a nice scarf.
When you have a particular yarn in mind for this project I suggest using a scale. When you’re almost halfway through the yarn you’ll work towards decreasing, so you won’t run out of yarn.
