"Frøya" - a Norwegian rose produce bag
Pattern – “The Norwegian rose produce bag”
The Norwegian rose produce bag is my interpretation of traditional 18-century Norwegian Rosemaling. Here applied in a sustainable mesh bag. Tradition meets modern.
#Rosemaling is basically painting of various flowers and plants that were applied for beautifying everyday objects, also called applied art.
Mesh bags are useful as replacements for single-use plastic bags. They can be used to store all kinds of stuff, and beautify everyday life. I hope you choose to get or make such bags, and say no to single use plastic! ♻️
Produce bags can replace plastic bags for shopping of fruit and vegetables at the grocery store. They can be made in different shapes, sizes, and colors. I have chosen to use organic cotton ecause it’s non toxic and easy to wash in high temperatures when it gets stained. I am making them in different sizes because I sometimes need small ones for just a few lemons or onions and bigger ones for apples and oranges. Produce bags are both useful, pretty, and sustainable.
I hope you would like to make and use produce bags in the grocery store and say no to disposable plastic bags.
I like to use cotton threads size 8/8 with a 4mm hook, but you can use whatever you prefer.
