NOTE: The hat is worked in the round, from the bottom up with the face opening in the middle of the piece. The middle part of the hat is worked in two layers, using two circular needles.
These mittens are worked in the round from the bottom up to the top. The thumb is made by gradually increasing stitches on one of the sides (gusset). The hand is closed with 3- stitches bind off, and once finished, the live thumb stitches are placed back onto needles to finish the tip.
Instructions are written with two pair circular knitting needles (double pointed needles may also be used by dividing stitches evenly over 4 needles).
