Oversized buttonholes knitted at regular intervals become a fun, ironic, design element in this close fitting, drapey, textural cowl. This project is knit in the round.

Materials & Notions Required
1.5-2 x 50gr skein (75-100 grams or 200-262 Yards) of Lana Grossa Cool Wool Merino Big or similar worsted weight 10-ply yarn
1 set 4.5mm (US size 7), 16” circular needles
2 stitch markers in contrasting colours
Tapestry needle
Row counter

Project Notes
For each of my Perforated Cowls, I have required 1.5 skeins of worsted weight yarn. The gauge is approximately 20 stitches and 20 rows for 4”x4” knitted in stockinette stitch for a finished, blocked cowl with a circumference of 19.5” and a height of 11.5”. As long as the cowl fits over your head however, gauge is not absolutely crucial! Instructions are given to adjust the circumference and/or the height of the cowl for size or gauge reasons. This will of course change your yarn requirement.

Special skills required; knitting in the round, knitted cast-on
