Full Tweed Ahead Booties
Not quite so plain booties!
When you want to knit an easy pair of booties, but you want a tiny bit of something extra to hold your interest … try Full Tweed Ahead Booties! Two different coloured tweedy yarns show off tidy garter stitch stripes on the cuff and a contrasting instep. These are started like a toe-up sock and worked mostly in the round with some short rows for shaping the instep.
MATERIALS:
--13 (16, 18, 21, 23)g of fingering weight yarn
--MC: 10 (12, 14, 16, 18)g
--CC: 4 (4, 4, 5, 5)g
--US #1 | 2.25 mm needles or size needed to obtain gauge
--Stitch marker and tapestry needle for weaving in ends
GAUGE | TENSION:
Approx. 32 sts = 4” | 10 cm on US 1 | 2.25mm needles in stockinette stitch
Finished size can vary according to personal gauge
SKILLS NEEDED:
Casting on and starting like a toe-up sock; knitting in the round using your choice of method; simple increasing and decreasing; short rows for shaping
