The best thing about this towel is that it virtually folds itself! The finished product measures about 14” at the widest point and about 20” long when the button on the hanging loop is fastened. The hanging loop is sized to fit an average oven handle.

The main pattern is for the hanging towel with 3/4” button. Variations are included for making a flat towel (without the hanger) and for different sized buttons. Any special stitches required to complete the pattern are also in the instructions.

All instructions use American terminology and standard abbreviations. For the sake of simplicity these instructions are written to reflect the 2 color
option. If you are working in 4 colors as pictured, simply substitute your additional colors for “Color B.” Color A remains constant throughout.

Supplies needed:
about 4 oz. or 2 balls of worsted weight cotton yarn in Color A
about 2 oz. or 1 ball of worsted weight cotton yarn in Color B
size I-9 (5.5 mm) or H-8 (5.0 mm) crochet hook
smaller hook or yarn needle for weaving in ends
stitch marker or length of scrap yarn (optional)
one button in your choice of size from 1/2” to 1 1/4”
