I’ve crocheted this holder using double strands of acrylic yarn so that it is sturdier. The acrylic yarn I used is 18 wraps per inch and hence is categorised under ‘fine’ yarn. Wraps per inch (or WPI) is a measure of the grist or the thickness of a yarn.

I used crochet hook size 2.2mm.
