Funkey Munkey
Here is a fun pattern for a cheeky little monkey toy. It would be so cute in a kid’s room hanging from the top of the curtains or bedpost!
You will need a set of four dpns in the size to achieve stated gauge. The body and top of head are knitted using one strand of the kid mohair/silk and one strand of the merino dk. The face, arms, legs, and optional tail (in case you want to make an ape, leave off tail) are knitted using just one strand of the merino dk.
You will also need a small amount of polyester fiberfil, a couple tiny buttons, and a short length of red dk or embroidery floss or tapestry wool for the mouth.
This is knitted in the round, the only sewing is around adding the arms, legs, and tail. You will need to know how to or learn how to knit in the round using double pointed needles, make i-cord, and pick up a few stitches as directed. There are pictures to help you work through this.
This would make a cute shower gift with a pair of booties or a sweater.
