FUNKY SQUARES
Who doesn’t want to wear a rainbow around their neck, when the weather is dark and gloomy? Well, look no more, because the funky square scarf is here to save the day!
The scarf is crocheted using the overlay mosaic technique. It might look tricky, but it only consists of sc’s and dc’s and is a lot easier than it looks. I have included a bit of tapestry as well to be able to include more colors.
The pattern is crocheted 1 row at a time length wise, so there are only a few ends to weave in. You will carry 1 color in all even rows - never more, and all uneven rows are crocheted using only the main color.
Mosaic crochet has the benefit of creating a very pretty backside aswell so dont worry about that looking like a mess. Check out the photos to see a picture of the backside.
The pattern includes a photo tutorial of the technique, and the scarf pattern includes both a chart and written instructions.
I have also included a blank chart to print out, in case you want to experiment with your own colors before committing.
If you are not a scarf type of person, fear not, as the pattern can also be used to crochet a colorful blanket, a pretty pillow etc.
Yarn and hook
I have used a lightweight lambswool/cotton blend on hook 2.5 for my version, but the reality is, that you can use whatever yarn your heart desires. You might even want to use some of all those leftovers I know you have hidden around the house!
