Got inspired by the charity Group Share A Square 2010
Share A Square will be putting together 150 crocheted afghans to give to children with cancer. These kids will be attending Camp Discovery in Kerrville, Texas in the summer of 2011. They will receive blankets of love from around the world.
This reminds me of a period in my live when my husband’s 13 year old nephew was diagnosed with cancer and had to lose a leg. He’s now in his thirty’s and okay. But it still aches my heart. All those little children in that hospital. Even baby’s who were born with cancer.
It makes me realize that you have to count your blessings when every day is an healthy day for you and your family! In Holland we’ve got an expression (perhaps it’s the same in English) ‘We are all just people of ONE day”.
