The brioche stitch produces wonderful squishy, warm scarves, so how could you possibly improve on that? With faux fur pockets, of course! It’s like having soft, cosy gloves built-in.

This pattern includes both a one-colour and two-colour brioche scarf option. Both scarves are knit with bulky weight yarn, along with super-bulky faux fur yarn for the pockets. There are detailed instructions throughout, plus some introductory notes for those new to brioche knitting. Even if you’re a beginner, you will easily be able to follow the instructions for the one-colour scarf, and that might then inspire you to try two-colour brioche.

Yarn weight: bulky for the scarves and super bulky faux fur yarn for the pockets. Please note, yardage only applies to the Amano Puyu Yarn. The one-colour scarf uses 6 skeins of Amano Puyu and one ball of Sirdar Alpine. The two-colour scarf uses 3 skeins of Misti Alpaca Hand Paint Chunky, 3 skeins of Misti Alpaca Chunky and approximately 40g of each of the two colours of Knitting Fever Surreal.

Needles for the one-colour scarf: 7mm (US 10.5/UK 2) needles (straight or circular) for the scarf and 8mm (US 11/UK 0) needless (straight or circular) for the pockets

Needles for the two-colour scarf: 6mm (US 10/UK4) 8” dpns for casting on, 6mm (US 10/UK4) 24” circular needle for the scarf, 8mm (US 11/UK 0) needles (straight, dpns or circular) for the pockets

Dimensions: approximately 8.5 inches (21.5 cm) wide x 100 inches (254 cm) long
