'Fused' Pythagorean Blanket
The “Fragmented” Pythagorean blanket was created for Yarndale 2021. We chose the name Pythagorean as we
found that designing a blanket made up of triangles and squares required the practical application of Pythagoras’ theorem at regular intervals. The squares make a repeating pattern that resembles a tiled floor
This “Fused” version uses the same basic design as the original “Fragmented” version, but the squares are made by picking up stitches for the next square from the edges of the previous ones. The edge triangles and the edging are added last. The only sewing required is to darn in the ends. Not for a total novice but beginners with attitude or intermediate knitters shouldn’t have any problems
The blanket takes 4 balls of main colour, 2 of contrast one and three of contrast two -- our version was:
100g WYS ColourLab DK 225m/100g 100% wool
Main colour: 556 Crimson Red x 4 balls
Contrast colour one: 363 Bottle Green x 2 balls
Contrast colour two: 011: Arctic White x 3 balls
