I used Caron one pound for this pattern, along with a boye h5.00mm hook. The pattern has no gauge or specific size so any yarn or hook size that your most comfortable with will work fine for this pattern. Keep in mind if you use a thinner and smaller hook you may have to increase st in the first round to compensate in size a little and make sure it will fit comfortably around your neck, and lay bulky and slightly loose.
