Fuzzy (not Fussy) Socks
These socks are all fuzz and no fuss!
I designed the Fuzzy not Fussy Socks to have a classic and simple to make construction that is sure to make it a staple in your wardrobe. The addition of mohair makes a luxurious fabric that feels like walking on clouds.
These socks are perfect for using leftover yarn from other projects where mohair and fingering weight yarn are held double. You can use any fingering weight yarn without worrying about comprising on durability because the mohair will add strength to your sock!
The pattern includes instructions for the magic loop method, a heel-flap and gusset construction and two different style of toes: the star toe that requires no seaming and the classic wedge style toe. This makes the pattern extremely beginner-friendly and functional.
Sizes range from Small, (Medium, Large) and were designed to fit a foot circumference of 7” (8”, 9”). These socks have a negative ease of approximately 1”. To choose your size, measure your foot circumference at the largest point and choose the size that is approximately 1” smaller.
This pattern is designed to use Sunday Fibre Co.’s Cumulus Mohair and Barefoot Organic Sock. The green sample was knit using the colour ‘Sagesse’ from the Winter 2020 Collection. The orange sample was knit using the colour “Pumpkin Spice” on the Socknado base by Ancient Arts and Drops Kid-Silk in “Orange”. You can use whatever combination of yarn you have!
You will need approximately 250-300 yards of both the mohair and fingering weight yarn (300yds being ample for the largest size).
The pattern is written for a gauge of 7 stitches per 1” on US 1 (2.25mm) needle over stockinette.
I hope you enjoy knitting these wonderfully fuzzy socks,
Emma
