This version of Rodin’s The Thinker is worked in the round. Pattern uses short rows for shaping.

The sculpture stands about 13 inches tall when worked as directed, using a worsted weight yarn held together with a strand of silk-mohair. Substituting other worsted weight yarns will work fine, as long as the yarn is round; tape, ribbon, and other flat yarns are not recommended.

The figure is worked separately from the base “rock” and then the two pieces are sewn together. The base is made from recyclables -- a drink carton, a jar lid, and a coaster. Optional features are wooden skewers for limb support and the iconic Florentine cap.

Please note that the pattern needs revision and thorough testing; therefore it has been removed from circulation until corrections have been made.
