These sweet and easy Valentine’s Day socks were inspired by a now single fast-fashion Christmas sock from the dollar store. It was a boisterous red and lime green color combination, and too thin compared to the squishy quality I love so much from handknit socks. I’m not sure where its partner spent its last days, but I thought the pattern lends itself better to Valentine’s Day. Of course, you can use whatever colorway you like to match any season (even lime green!)

MATERIALS: 75-100g fingering weight yarn, size 1 and 1.5 knitting needles

TECHNIQUES: This is an intermediate knitting pattern and assumes knowledge of basic sock knitting and color work knitting. These socks are knit cuff down with cabled cuffs, and one colorwork chart. The pattern is written for cuff-down sock construction and uses an afterthought heel. It also includes a chart to help with color planning to customize every detail of your socks!
