Fyrre is the Middle English word for fir trees. The blue-ish green colour of this yarn reminded me of the colour of the pine, fir, and spruce trees in the coniferous forests that cover the slopes of the Alberta Rockies, which became the inspiration for this cozy cowl pattern.
