G Ribbed Scarf
How many yards do I need for a scarf? How long should it be? What’s the appropriate width? These are some of the questions that come to mind every time I intend to crochet a scarf. In order to overcome my indecisiveness, I decided to design this pattern that works as a foundation upon which I could base my choices of a simple functional scarf.
Ribbing stitches play the major rule in constructing this basic pattern. It’s the type of project you’d enjoy while watching your favorite show or reading a book.
Before you start on this project make sure you’ve mastered Fpdc, Bpdc and the Half Double Crochet Foundation stitch.
The scarf is made of two panels. The first row is at the middle of the scarf from which the first panel grows. After completing the first panel, you’ll have to go back to the first row, join yarn and work the second panel.
The main body is worked in 1x1 ribbing, while both endings are worked in 2x1 ribbing.
Don’t be alarmed by all the details included in this pattern, once you finish the first few rows it becomes meditative and you wont need the pattern.
Enjoy!
