Gabrielle Blanket
This lovely blanket was made as a tribute to my mother, Gabrielle. The colours were inspired by her love of the ocean, where we spent much of my childhood.
The blanket consists of two types of squares, mandala squares that have a raised 3D element, and the simple squares which contain similar elements as the mandala squares however they lay flat. The squares are made first and then joined at the end.
My pattern contains alternate layout suggestions for other ways to arrange the squares to make your own unique and perfectly custom blanket. The pattern is filled with pictures to walk you along every step!
Skill Level: Intermediate. This pattern requires color changing, joining, and working on both the right and wrong sides. There are plenty of pictures so I think this pattern would also be appropriate for an ambitious beginner.
