Not a stitch too much; like the Gabbro stone this sweater pattern design has been brewing under the surface for a long while, giving each stitch the time to fall into its place. The result is a sweater made from a chunky/bulky weight yarn, that does not feel bulky. It still shows some rough texture, though with a smooth, fitted edge.
The sweater is a pretty quick knit, obviously, since it is knit with bulky weight yarn or two worsted weight yarns held double. It is seamless, with a saddle-shoulder and knit from top-down, starting at the top and shaping the shoulder and sleeve-sections along the way. Front neckline is lowered a little through a short row section.

Pattern allows for all kinds of variations. The body has a fitted waistline, with some negative ease in the chest and hip region, but the pattern easily allows for omission. Sleeves can be optional elbow, three quarter, or full length, depending on your preference.

SIZES:
This pattern includes 4 sizes (S,M,L,XL) corresponding with chest sizes (34-37-40-45” or 84-94-102-113 cm). Sizing table with finished garment measurements is included in the pattern.

MATERIALS:
Yarn:
Sample uses Zeeman Marl Wool, a multiply 50%wool, 50% acrylic yarn, 109 yards 100m / 100gr, colorway 80 Dark Grey

Yardage:
450 (500, 550, 600) gr Zeeman Marl Wool,
or alternative: 500 (550, 600, 650) yds / 450 (500, 550, 600) m of any other desired bulky weight yarn,
or alternative: 1000 (1100, 1200, 1300) yds / 900 (1000, 1100, 1200) m worsted weight yarn held double.
This amount is enough for elbow length sleeves, for full length sleeves more yarn is needed (ca. 100 gr or 109 yds / 100m extra).

Needles and other:

• For body: 1 circular needle 8.0 mm (US size 11) 32”/80 cm or 4 DPNs 8.0 mm (or in size needed to obtain gauge)
• For hems: 1 circular needle 6.0 mm (US size 10) 16”/40 cm or 4 DPNs 6.0 mm (US size 10). In bulky yarn an smaller than usual needle size may be needed to make the V’s in the 2x2 rib match in size with the V’s in stockinette stitch. Advice is to experiment here.

• tapestry needle, some waste yarn

TECHNIQUES:
