This is the perfect shawl for the summer.
Large, light and warm!
You can easily wrap yourself in this shawl, or if you prefer to use it as a scarf it is will drape nicely, it weights hardly anything, and if you use wool it is super warm for those long summer evenings.

Materials & Tools:

  • Lace yarn (600m/100gr)
  • Silk Mohair (420m/50gr)
  • 4 mm/ US 6 circular needle (or size to give you correct gauge), length 80 cm or longer
  • Tapestry needle

Shown in:
Colour 1 (C1): 1tr.Luxus Uld (600m/100gr)
Colour 2 (C2): Silk Mohair from
KingsYarnBarn (420m/50gr)

Yardage for shawl:
Colour 1 (C1): 100 - 110 gr Lace Yarn
Colour 2 (C2): 22 gr Silk Mohair

Some of my testers used less than 600m/100gr for of lace for their shawls. This all depends on knitting style. I am quite a loose knitter thus I used more.
You need more yarn for tassels. I used a total of 12 gr for mine. A combination of lace and silk mohair.
The eyelets are knit with silk mohair, you may use one colour only, or go wild using your leftovers.

Gauge:
17 sts/34 rows = 10 cm (4 inches) in pattern after blocking

Skills needed:
Casting on, knit, purl, yarn over, slip stitches, knit two together, Icelandic BO (this is explained in the pattern)

Pattern notes:
Gauge is not important for the shawl, but will alter the size. If you use a thinner lace yarn or fingering yarn it may both alter the size and the total yardage.

I love seeing what’s on your needles.
