Welcome to week 19 of the 2014 Geek-A-Long, a mystery blanket knit-along (or crochet-along for you rebels out there)! If you’re new to the GAL craziness, check out the Geek-A-Long FAQ page for more details and information. Then, meet us back here when you’re ready. For the seasoned pros, let’s talk about the Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement and Logistics Division (or the Strategic Hazard Intervention Espionage Logistics Directorate, or Supreme Headquarters International Espionage Law-Enforcement Division…depending on how old school you are)!
I love the new take on The Avengers. The movies are great and the spin-off, “Agents of SHIELD,” is delightful too. It’s actually relatively hard for me to talk about SHIELD right now, because I don’t want to kill you with spoilers. I thought about waiting to release this square so that a reasonable amount of time will have passed since Winter Soldier came out and I’d be able to talk about what happened. But, frankly, I have the patience of an ADHD 2 year old. And with the season finale about to drop, there is no better time to honor them.
This wound up being (in my opinion) one of the nicest looking squares on the blanket. The SHIELD logo translated to yarn really nicely.
